By default, all user corpora are private. They can be accessed only by the owner of the corpus. If you want to allow somebody else to access your corpus, you can share your corpus with them.
To share your corpus with somebody else, follow the steps below:
- Go to the corpus DASHBOARD.
-
Click MANAGE CORPUS.
- Click Share.
- Insert the email address of the user to share the corpus with this user
or
(if you are a member of a group account or institutional account) select the group account to share the corpus with all members of that account. - Set up privileges: 1. read-only (allows searching the corpus), 2. Upload (allows adding data to the corpus) or 3. Full access (allows also recompiling corpus and changing the corpus configuration).
- The corpus will be found on the SHARED WITH ME tab on the SELECT CORPUS screen and also in the corpus selector located at the top of each screen.
You can cancel the corpus sharing in DASHBOARD - MANAGE CORPUS ➝ Share.
If you need to share also subcorpora, see this documentation page on how to prepare such a subcorpus.
Troubleshooting
- You are trying to share the corpus with one user but the email address is not found. This means the user has the Sketch Engine account registered to a different email address. Ask the user to go to My account (the right-most icon at the top) and check which email address is registered with his account.
- You shared it with the correct email address but the user cannot see it in SHARED WITH ME. This means the user has more than one account in Sketch Engine, each registered with a different email address. Ask the user to go to My account (the right-most icon at the top) and check which email address is registered with his account.
